Nicolas T. Abrams
Nicolas Troy Abrams, Certified Financial Planner®, is the founder and CEO of Opulentia, LLC, located in Hunt Valley, Maryland. Opulentia, LLC is a Registered Investment Advisory Firm whose mission is to design financial plans to create generational wealth. With over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, Nicolas advises clients in numerous states.
Before starting Opulentia, LLC, Nicolas was a Regional Sales Director for Nationwide Financial Network, supervising and training hundreds of financial advisors nationwide.
He also spent over five years with Genworth Financial Advisors as an Investment Advisor Representative and as a District Leader for the Baltimore metropolitan area. Nicolas graduated from St. Mary’s College of Maryland, earning his B.A. in Economics with a concentration in Business. He also received a certificate in Financial Planning from the University of Baltimore in 2002.
Nicolas has been a regular guest on Morgan State University’s WEAA (Baltimore 88.9 FM) Wealthy Radio with host Deborah Owens. He is the former host of Radio One’s WOLB (Baltimore 1010 AM) The 1st Friday Radio Show focused on economic empowerment and wealth creation, and the TV Show Financial Empowerment with Nick Abrams was shown in Atlanta and Washington, DC. Nicolas has been a guest on National Public Radio’s Marketplace frequently discusses money and financial issues at local and national conferences, including the Blacks In Government National Training Institute. In addition, he has been quoted in several publications, including Forbes, Money, and The Street.
On March 2020, Governor Larry Hogan appointed Nicolas to serve on the Board of Trustees of St. Mary’s College of Maryland. In 2021 he was elected Secretary of the Board of Trustees. Before being selected to serve on the Board of Trustees, he was chosen to serve as a Director of the St. Mary’s College of Maryland Foundation Board. Later he was elected as the board’s Treasurer. In that role, he helps select investment advisors, oversees the performance of investment managers, and assists in developing investment policy statements. He is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Financial Planning Association of Maryland, the Baltimore Chapter of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, the Baltimore City Chamber of Commerce, and the Baltimore Chapter of the Society of Financial Services Professionals. When he is not working, Nicolas enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife, Leah, and their two sons, Nicolas II and Aiden.
