Eugene M. Smith
Born in Tallahassee, Florida, Eugene arrived in Baltimore, Maryland, at 19, making Baltimore his home, married, and growing his family.
As a part of the community, he built a work history in sales and marketing, working for Montgomery Wards and part owner of a beauty supply business. He became the special market representative and District Manager for Coke Cola Bottling Company. Eugene was known as a “sales and marketing force” in the greater Baltimore metropolitan area.
Eugene’s last venture was his ownership of EMS Limousine, a fleet of limousines servicing the Baltimore – Washington D.C. corridor. Eugene was always involved in advocating for the economic advancement of African Americans in Baltimore. During his commitment to growing and developing the Baltimore Marketing Association, Eugene served on many committees and held several leadership positions, including its fourth president in 1972.
